A 19-year-old University of Arizona student killed in a motorcycle crash in the Santa Catalina Mountains Friday has been identified as Spencer Repp, an official said.
Repp, of New York, was flown to University of Arizona Medical Center after the 5:20 p.m. crash at Milepost 12 of the Catalina Highway, Deputy Tom Peine, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman, said Sunday.
Repp went over the guardrail and sustained serious injuries, Peine said.
Investigators said speed was a factor in the wreck. Repp lost control of the motorcycle as he traveled south on the highway.
