A patient care technician working at a Marana adult care home was arrested Thursday on suspicion she stole more than $4,000 from a 91-year-old patient.
Lisa Marie Boone-Scott, 48, was arrested on suspicion of fraud, theft/financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult and two counts of forgery by a special agent with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
Boone-Scott forged two of the victim’s checks for a total of $1,666 and made five unauthorized ATM withdrawals for $2,500 between May and August an investigation by the special agent and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department revealed, according to court documents.
Boone-Scott admitted her actions and was seen on surveillance tapes, court documents state.
She is being held in the Pima County jail on $7,500 bail.
Boone-Scott has prior convictions and has served a prison term in California for similar offenses, according to court documents.
