A 19-year-old man was sentenced in Pima County Superior Court on Wednesday to 12 years in prison for the fatal shooting of another man at a Tucson apartment complex in April 2012.

A'mar DeWilliam Heartfield pleaded guilty in February to second-degree murder in the death of Michael Moore.

Moore was found by police with gunshot wounds April 29 in the parking lot of the complex in the 4600 block of East 29th Street, near South Swan Road. Moore died at a hospital.

Heartfield was arrested a few days later. He was sentenced by Judge Javier Chon-Lopez.
