A 26-year-old man who was shot was found dead inside a southeast-side house Wednesday morning, police said.
The man’s name was not released, pending notification of family, said Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.
Shortly before 9 a.m., police received a 911 call reporting a shooting at a house in the 4800 block of South Lantana Place, Hawke said.
When police arrived, the homeowner let them in and officers found the victim in a bedroom, said Hawke.
The man was pronounced dead by an officer, Hawke said. Homicide investigators believe he died from a gunshot, she said.
The Pima County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.
Homicide detectives were working to determine what happened inside the house, and have collected evidence and conducted interviews, said Hawke.
Investigators believe the shooting occurred between 7 and 8:30 a.m.
Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
