A 53-year-old Tucson man was placed on lifetime probation Monday for soliciting sexual acts from teenage boys on two separate occasions.

Barry Dean James pleaded guilty in October to two felony counts of luring a minor for exploitation and four misdemeanor counts of attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

According to police, a group of boys were in a shopping center parking lot near East Catalina Highway and East Tanque Verde Road when James  approached them in his pickup truck and asked them to perform sexual acts. The boys ran away and called 911.

The next day, James approached a boy who was walking near North Camino Seco and East Colette Street, near Sahuaro High School. He tried to lure the boy, who flagged down a motorist and asked the motorist to call 911. The motorist followed the man and took his license plate number.

Police found James at a Circle K at East Broadway and Harrison Road and arrested him.

Pima County Superior Court Judge Michael Miller presided over the case.
