A dismembered bald eagle was found earlier this month atop Gates Pass in Tucson.

Arizona Game and Fish is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible, a department news release says. The eagle, whose tail, primary feathers and feet had been removed, was found Nov. 21 by a hiker in Tucson Mountain Park.

It appeared the eagle had been dead for a few days before the discovery.

Anyone with information is urged to call 1-800-352-0700 and reference case no. 11-001867. People can also provide information online at this Web page: www.azgfd.gov/ogt_form.shtml
