A father and son have been arrested in connection with a string of bank robberies in the Tucson area over the past three months, police said.

Steven Caplinger, 44, was arrested on suspicion of eight bank robberies around Tucson between Oct. 27 and Tuesday, Sgt. Maria Hawke said in a news release.

His son, Destin Jordan, 21, was also arrested on suspicion of being involved in some of the heists as a getaway driver.

Caplinger was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of three counts of armed robbery and seven counts of aggravated assault. Jordan is facing one count of robbery, Hawke said in the news release.
