A 24-year-old man is facing charges in the smuggling of about 750 pounds of marijuana in a septic tank truck, officials say.

Leonard Salcido was booked into Santa Cruz County jail after Arizona Department of Public Safety officers arrested him during a traffic stop Wednesday on Interstate 19 near Tubac, according to an agency news release.

Salcido is facing charges of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana for sale.

A DPS officer found the marijuana in the holding tank of the septic truck.

The officer stopped the truck, which was traveling north on I-19, after noticing an invalid license plate and commercial vehicle markings.
