Two men have been arrested on suspicion of setting a vacant warehouse on Tucson’s south side on fire, police said.

Eduardo West, 34, and Cruz Baumea, 40, were arrested on suspicion of arson of an occupied structure and criminal damage, Sgt. Chris Widmer said in a news release today.

West was arrested Aug. 1 and Baumea was taken into custody the following day. Both were booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of arson and criminal damage, both felonies.

The fire was reported July 30 in the 500 block of East 24th Street, near East 22nd Street and South Park Avenue. Flames and smoke could be seen for miles.

No one was injured.
