Three men were arrested Tuesday morning in connection with a home invasion on Tucson’s south side.
A resident in the 2800 block of East Paseo La Tierra Buena, near South Tucson Boulevard and East Irvington Road, called 911 about 6:30 a.m. to report two men trying to kick in the neighbor’s front door and gave a description of their vehicle, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson police spokesman.
When officers arrived they saw a vehicle matching the neighbor’s description and tried to stop it, but the driver fled, Widmer said.
The chase ended at South Campbell Avenue and East Irvington Road. The three men tried to run away but were caught.
Detectives learned the men entered the home armed with guns and wearing masks and took several items.
Officers found guns inside the vehicle.
Four people were home during the invasion, but nobody was injured, Widmer said.
Booked into Pima County jail were Eleazar Ochoa, 37, Luis Zavala, 28, and Ricardo Beltran Leon, 38. All three men are facing charges of aggravated assault, armed robbery, aggravated robbery and kidnapping. More charges are pending.
