A 50-year-old Mexican man was arrested after Arizona border officials say he tried to smuggle nearly 38 pounds of methamphetamine into the United States.

Customs and Border Protection officers and a detection canine found Guillermo Eleazar Lopez-Rodriguez with $538,000 worth of drugs hidden in the frame of a Ford SUV he was driving, according to a news release.

The drugs and vehicle were seized and Hernandez was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
