A Pima County Sheriff's deputy was injured when his cruiser was hit while crossing a southwest-side intersection this morning.
The deputy was eastbound on West Valencia Road at South Mark Road when a woman driving a Chevvrolet pickup turned left in front of him, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's department.
The woman told deputies she made the turn because she anticipated a green turn arrow, Barkman said.
Both the woman and the deputy were taken to the hospital, but their injuries were not considered life threatening.
