Interstate 10 east of Tucson was closed over night on Friday forcing drivers to make a 67 mile detour as the old Pantano Union Pacific Railroad Bridge was demolished.

On Monday the Arizona Department of Transportation posted an entertaining YouTube video compressing the massive overnight demolition into 49 seconds, from closure to freeway reopening.

The bridge, which was built in 1955, was no longer in use as the rail line relocated. It's removal allows commercial trucks to use the road as many were too tall to pass under the bridge, forcing them to take a lengthy detour.
