A lot of Democrats tried to throw verbal punches at Gov. Jan Brewer this week after she issued an order that young people entering President Obama's new DREAM-like program will not be allowed to get driver's licenses in Arizona.
(See Brewer bars public benefits for illegal immigrants for details)
But Jeff Rogers, Chair of the Pima County Democratic Party, might've issued the most outrageous statement.
"Jan Brewer has once again show that she is nothing more than George Wallace in a skirt," Rogers said. "What's next? Will she personally stand outside the Motor Vehicle office and block entry to qualified 'DREAMers'?"
Here are some other Dem leaders who jabbed at Brewer over this issue:
"This amounts to a gubernatorial temper tantrum." — Luis Heredia, Arizona Democratic Party Executive Director
"By issuing an executive order with questionable impact, Governor Brewer has shown again that she'll jump at the chance to grandstand for political attention, but she is not at all interested in finding real solutions to immigration." — David Schapira, Senate Democratic Leader
"She's just being herself, hurting our economy and pulling families apart to please a small minority of the population." — U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva
