The U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to convene Wednesday to consider a resolution honoring injured U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the six people killed in the Saturday’s shooting in Tucson.

It will be the first time the House members have met in session since Giffords and 19 others were shot at one of her constituent events Saturday.

The resolution is: “Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives with respect to the tragic shooting in Tucson, Arizona, on January 8, 2011,” according to a news release from Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer.

The session is expected to last from 10 a.m. Eastern time to about 12:30 or 2 p.m.
