A 32-year-old Tucson man is in the Pima County jail on suspicion of sending sexually explicit photos to two 13-year-old girls.

On Jan. 21, the parents of one of the girls called the Pima County Sheriff’s Department after discovering Jonathon Dewayne Peterson may have sent nude photos to their daughter. The girl’s cell phone and iPad were seized and a forensic investigation confirmed photos had been sent.

The girl told detectives Peterson, who was a family friend, had also touched her breasts, according to a Pima County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Peterson was arrested on Feb. 8.

Earlier this month, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip about another 13-year-old girl who may have been victimized by Peterson, said Tucson Police Department Sgt. Maria Hawke.

A separate investigation was launched and Peterson was arrested again Wednesday with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

Peterson is being held without bail on suspicion of aggravated luring of a minor and several counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
