A motorcyclist killed this morning on East Tanque Verde Road has been identified.

Jesse Stuart Carlson, 18, was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle west on Tanque Verde at about 3:45 a.m. when he lost control and struck a median curb near East Woodland Road, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Carlson was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the crash scene. A helmet was found in the area, but Widmer did not know whether Carlson had been wearing it.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, he said.

No other vehicles were involved.

Westbound Tanque Verde near Woodland was closed for more than five hours this morning while the crash was being investigated.
