An inmate who escaped from the Pima County jail Wednesday night was captured on the south side shortly after midnight.
Cesar Low, 20, who was being held for a property crime, escaped while being transported from the county’s medium security facility to the main jail, said Deputy Tom Peine, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
Low was jailed in August, to serve six months for theft of means of transportation, and a misdemeanor theft charge, Peine said. He was scheduled to be released in February.
Low previously served time in a state prison for burglary.
