I've been researching and editing old negatives from the Tucson Citizen to digitize selected photos for use on StarNet. There were many great musical acts that came through Tucson in the 60s and 70s, including Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, and Pink Floyd.
Of course, I had to pull photos of Tucson's own Linda Ronstadt, whose career in the 70s was taking off (and I had a crush on her when I was in eighth grade.) Not surprisingly, all of the negatives are missing. But the contact sheets are still there along with the photo editor's marks on selection, sizing and cropping. The frames shown were taken by P.K. Weis, former photo editor at the Tucson Citizen, during Ronstadt's appearance at the Tucson Community Center on Sept. 16, 1976.
