The nonprofit 100 Club of Arizona gave Picture Rocks Fire District a Safety Enhancement Stipend Award, which comes with a $9,332.67 grant.
The district used the money to purchase personal protective gear for technical rescue for 12 of its 19 firefighters.
The 100 Club of Arizona provides financial aid to families of public safety workers who are seriously injured or killed while serving.
