National League of Cities Oro Valley Town Councilmember Mike Zinkin has been appointed to the National League of Cities 2013 Community and Economic Development Policy and Advocacy Committee.

The committee helps develop federal policy positions on housing, land use, parks and recreation and community and economic development, among other issues.

NLC President and Avondale Mayor Marie Lopez Rogers made the appointment.

The organization serves as a resource for 19,000 municipalities that are home to more than 218 million people.
