Mountain View High School's Leah Oliver was inducted to the Arizona Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame.

The AZATA gave Oliver the distinction at a Feb. 16 event, recognizing her for  her dedication to developing leadership and citizenship in students via education in sports health and training.

“It is a tremendous privilege to have nominated Leah Oliver for this award,”said AZATA Hall of Fame member Greg Pott in a news release. “I have known Ms. Oliver over 20 years and believe this honor could not go to a more deserving person. She possesses an exceptional ability to mentor and motivate students to pursue their interests and dreams.”

Oliver has worked at Mountain View since 1989, teaching classes including sports medicine. During the 2010-2011 school year she won the AZATA Athletic Trainer of the Year Service Award, as well as Marana Unified School District Teacher of the Year.
