20: The number of days that saw high temperatures of at least 100 degrees at the Tucson International Airport in August, which helped make it the fourth-warmest August on record.
4: Number of record-high temperature days recorded in August. All happened prior to August 15.
One degree: The monthly average temperature difference between August 2012 and August 2011, which is the second-hottest recorded August.
1.17 inches: Total August rainfall at the airport, which is 1.22 inches below normal.
