The Pima Council on Aging tomorrow - Thursday, Oct. 3 - will hold a free, public session designed to help diabetics adhere to medication instructions.
The free, one-hour, hands-on lecture is designed for people who are pre-diabetic or have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. The session is open to the public and will take place at 9 a.m. at the Canoa Hills Social Center, 3660 S. Camino del Sol.
Derek Rowen, a clinical pharmacist and certified diabetes educator at El Rio Health Center in Tucson, will take questions from the public about practical ways to correctly take prescribed daily medications and to track issues that can arise in managing multiple medications, to reduce the risks of medication errors.
Seating is limited to 50 on a first-come, first-served basis.
