Arizonans for Health Care Freedom will hold a townhall event about Proposition 106 today — Thursday. Aug. 26.
Prop. 106, which will be on November's election ballot, would add a section to the state constitution barring any law that compels individuals to participate in any specific health-care program.
So in 2014 when national health reform kicks in, Arizonans would not have to pay federal fines for being without health insurance.
Missouri voters this month approved legislation with the same goal. And lawmakers in Georgia, Idaho, Utah and Louisiana have enacted similar provisions.
The townhall will feature Dr. Eric Novack, Chairman of the U.S. Health Care Freedom Coalition and the Arizona Health Care Freedom Act.
The townhall details:
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., event 6:00 -7:30 p.m.
Sahuaro High School Auditorium, 545 N. Camino Seco, Tucson
