Mark Kelly buying spree
Emboldened by the controversy surrounding his purchase of an assault weapon the husband of former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords says he bought a high-calorie, sugary drink in New York City to make a point about the ease of purchasing beverages that contribute to obesity.
Appearing Monday on the Food Network, Mark Kelly says he plans to turn the high-calorie drink in to a nutritionist.
Kelly says he went to a store recently to buy a dozen donuts, which he plans to eat.
He says “it’s too easy to buy some of this junk and it really shouldn’t be.”
