The Pima County Board of Supervisors voted to approve a $35,000-a-year pay raise for County Administrator Chuck Huckelberry. Huckelberry said he will use the additional income to “fix his name by transposing the ‘l’ and the ‘e’ in Huckelberry. It's bugged me for years.”
His new name will be “Huckleberry” and his new annual salary will be $265,000. For those interested in trivia, "Huckleberry" is a euphemisim for a digestive tract condition.Republican Supervisors Ray Carroll and Ally Miller voted against the contract, arguing that in these tight budgetary times," it would be appropriate if everyone in the office went on a first-name basis until times were better."
Chuck could not be reached for comment.
