Vail School District will co-sponsor food drive

The Vail School District will partner with the Vail Community Action Board and the United Way to host a food drive during October.

Vail schools will have special, designated boxes available for students to drop off non-perishable food items, which will be donated to Greater Vail Community Services and St. Vincent de Paul at St. Rita's Catholic Church.

The food drive will run from Oct. 7-22 for the district's high schools and Oct. 14-22 for its elementary, middle and K-8 schools.

On Oct. 26, the Vail Community Action Board will be at Purple Hear Park, 10050 E. Rita Road, for the "Days of Caring Day" event to collect additional food.

The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
