For those interested, here is the March 7 statement by the Vail Chamber of Commerce on why it chose not to take sides in the Rosemont Mine controversy:

Insofar as the mission statement of the Greater Vail Area Chamber of Commerce speaks to " ...advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Vail, Arizona area so that its citizens and all areas of its business community shall prosper....", it is the position of the Board of Directors, of the GVACC, that the Chamber supports the efforts of all of its member businesses. It is neither prudent nor pragmatic to "endorse" any particular business, but rather to support all member businesses, both current and in the future.
