Judge John Leonardo's last day as a full-time Pima County Superior Court judge is tomorrow. After 19 years on the bench, he's retiring, although he will be helping out on a handful of trials in the coming weeks.

Judge Leonardo has had an incredibly busy calendar in terms of high profile cases over the last few years.

He presided over the trial of Randall and Penny West, who were accused of causing the death of a toddler in their care. He handled the trials of double murder suspects Shawna Forde, Jason Bush and Albert Gaxiola and he also presided over the Nick Delich murder case.

It seems as though Pima County has experienced a high number of retirements lately, including those of Charles Sabalos, Hector Campoy, Michael Cruikshank and Edgar Acuña.
