Monday: Read to a Dog at Kirk-Bear Canyon Library, 8959 E. Tanque Verde Road. Kids read stories to a dog to practice reading. 6 p.m. Free.
Tuesday: Free kids movie at Crossroads, 4811 E. Grant Road. Choose from Earth and The Lorax. 10 a.m. Tickets are free for kids 10 and under and $2 for everybody else.
Wednesday: Passport to Imagination at Michaels, 7150 E. Broadway. Kids learn about other cultures through crafts. Today's will be an Indonesian Mask and a Peacock. 10 a.m. to noon. $2.
Thursday: $4 Picnic on the 4th of July at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N. Alvernon Way. Roam the gardens, and have a hot dog, chips and a beverage. 4 to 7 p.m. $4 admission; $4 picnic; Free for kids under 4.
Friday: MakeLab at Joel D. Valdez Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave. Teens can recycle, remake and rework everything from bike tubes to t-shirts, from phone wires to photos. 1 to 4 p.m. Free.
Saturday: Lego Club at Kirk-Bear Canyon Library, 8959 E. Tanque Verde Road. Kids can build whatever they want with Legos provided by the library. 10 a.m. Free.
Sunday: Pokemon Meetup at Bookmans Grant, 1930 E. Grant Road. Bring your Nintendo DS and a copy of either Pokemon White, White 2, Black or Black 2 and challenge other Pokemon Trainers to matches, make trades or even just talk all things Pokemon. 2 to 4 p.m. Free.
