I'm in Flagstaff covering the Arizona Board of Regents meetings. You can find my article on the university budget requests in tomorrow's newspaper, but here's an interesting item from the meeting that won't be in the paper.

Through the consent agenda, the board approved an annual report on university employees' pay.

Faculty pay: The gap between the average faculty salary at the UA and the average salary at peer universities has widened over five years to $6,500. The UA has a lower average salary than any of its 15 peers.

Staff pay: The average pay raise needed to bring a UA staff member up to market-rate pay will be 15 percent next year, according to the report.
