Tucson woman stabbed to death in foothills home

A woman was stabbed to death this morning at a home in the foothills.

Marie Antoinette Mesa, 44, was found with multiple stab wounds by sheriff's deputies who responded to the domestic violence call in the 6100 block of North Ginger Avenue, near River and Orange Grove roads.

Armando Lopez, 38, was outside of the home covered in blood and was taken into custody by deputies.

He was booked into the Pima County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Detectives are still investigating the case.
