Tucson's skies will light up tonight in celebration of our nation's birthday.

The city's traditional fireworks show atop of "A" Mountain to the west of downtown will pop out around 9:15. Primo viewing spots include the 22nd Street lot on the northeast corner of Interstate 10 and the frontage road; the City/State parking garage, 498 W. Congress St., and the Tucson Convention Center "B" parking lot off Granada Avenue between West Congress and South Cushing streets. Get to the TCC around 7 to claim a good vantage point; food vendors and a beer garden will be open from 7 to 9 p.m. You'll also find fine fireworks viewing, and plenty of food trucks at the Mercado San Agustín, 100 S. Avenida Del Convento. Check tucsonaz.gov/tcc for more information.

To the north of Tucson the sky will be ablaze with fireworks in Marana near the Arizona Pavilions, I-10 and Cortaro Road, starting around 9 p.m. Earlier, at 6, there will be a movie in the park at Crossroads at Silverbell Park. For maps or more information, call 382-1946 or visit marana.com

Southeast of downtown, the fireworks explode at Kino Sports Complex, 2500 E. Ajo Way after the last out of the Tucson Padres game against the Las Vegas 51s, between 9 and 10 p.m. More fireworks follow Friday's game, too. Parking is free, gates open at 5:30 p.m. today, and 6 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $5-$15. More information at 434-1367 or tucsonpadres.com

To the west, fireworks at Starr Pass Resort & Spa, 3800 W. Starr Pass Blvd., begin at 8:30 p.m. from the resort's golf courses. Property parking is limited to guests, but the show is visible from surrounding areas. For more information call 792-3500.
