LINGLE, Marilyn "Jane", 9/5/1937 3/15/2013. It was a lovely spring afternoon when Dick came for his sweetie, Janie, and took her home. Dick and Jane had been married 60 years when she departed to join her parents, Franklin Rice and Miriam Mills, her brother Frank and sister Susie, and her beloved friend, Dolores Bujarski. Left with priceless memories are her children, Rebecca (Mike) and Edwin (Peach), grandchildren Shannon, Cristy, (Ross), Wayne (Jessica), Travis (Sharon), seven great-grandchildren, her granddog Penny, the Bujarski and Handley kids, the Canales family and hundreds --- perhaps thousands --- of others who, throughout her life, she loved and shared her blessings with. For many, many years and in many, many places Janie shared her blessings. She made baby dolls, she dressed up stuffed animals, and gave them to poor children for Christmas. She was always buying things and giving them away to those less fortunate. She would give a stranger her last dime because for Janie, there were no strangers, just new people she had not met. Janie loved all things artsy --- and she was really good at everything she tried --- pottery, crafts, sewing, macramé --- she used to sew intricate patterns in colorful beads on Becky's skating outfits ---oh, she was so proud of her two children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren filled her heart with love. Janie also loved to play Bingo but bowling was her passion and she could throw a mean ball! She bowled in many leagues and tournaments and established many friendships along the way. Just a couple of summers ago her family traveled with her to upstate New York to cheer her on as she competed with America's best. And then there is the annual family tamale party --- she made aprons for the whole familythis year's fiesta just won't be the same. Janie thought the world of Dr. Robert Brooks, "he is a good man" in her book. The family thanks Dr. Brooks for everything he did for Janie, especially for these last 20 years of life he helped us all enjoy and now treasure. The family invites everyone to join us in sending Janie off with Dick on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel, 1050 North Dodge Blvd. In lieu of flowers please make a generous contribution to the children of Walter Douglas Elementary School c/o Libby Mack.
