Harold J. and Donna K. Thompson

Harold was born in Glen Ellyn, Illinois on February 5, 1933. He went to join the Lord on April 15, 2013. Preceded in death by his parents, Thorwald Thompson and Letha Kautman, and the recent death of his wife, Donna on April 2, 2013; his son, Douglas Thompson. The family moved to Arizona in 1952 and he was the Construction Engineer and Supervisor at Kitt Peak National Observatory, including exploring the southwest on horseback for its current site. In 1976 - 1995 he was employed by Pima Community College as Director of Plant Operations/Maintenance, acting vice chancellor for Administrative Services; acting Associate Vice President for Support Operations. Received awards in 1985 and 1988 from the Dept of Energy for energy conservation and was honored for this in Washington DC, Smithsonian Institute. Harold was a man of many talents and also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, horses and ironwork. He is survived by his sister, Arlene Fornoff; daughter, Sheree Bonham (Rick); grandsons, Troy Bonham and Jeff Bonham (April); four great-grandchildren, a niece and nephew. Thanks for the memories, loving guidance, support and wisdom you have given us. You are dearly loved and will never be forgotten. Your light will always shine in our hearts. May you rest in peace and your soul await our company. Celebration of life Service will be held for Harold and Donna, Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at New Spirit Lutheran Church. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
