Frank Mandros

90, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014. The native Tucsonan was born on March 14, 1923 to parents, Andrew and Amparo Mandros. He was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Perez and brother, Pete Mandros. He is survived by his children, Francine M. Bourland, Georgeanna Couston (George), Andrew Mandros (Julia); his grandchildren, George Couston, James Bourland, Carmela Broderick, Olivia and Steven Mandros; his sisters, Georgia Varela, Pat Mandros and many nieces and nephews. Frank served in the U.S. Army/Air Force during World War II. He was married to Carmen Martinez Mandros, his wife of 64 years. Frank worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad, Hughes Aircraft and retired from Ft. Huachuca as a civil servant pipe fitter. He was a member of Elk's Lodge 385 and the Tucson Ball Busters Golf Club. 'Tata' enjoyed golfing, gardening, cooking, working with stained glass and hanging out with his grandkids. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014, 3:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at CARRILLO'S TUCSON MORTUARY (South Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave., with Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. Mass will be offered Monday, February 24, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S.
