Carolyn S. Martak "Connie"
died April 23, 2013, she was born and lived in Iowa until she moved, for health reasons to Tucson. She fell in love with the small desert town and there, also, she met the love of her life, her beloved husband, Clyde. She traveled the world in his military career and increased the size of the family with a son in Yokohama, Japan and a daughter and another son at Walter Reed Hospital. They retired back in Tucson where Connie became active with school, church, social affairs, and also with the Tucson Police Department. She worked with them in starting the first neighborhood watch in the city. She was active with the program for 14 years. She is predeceased by her parents, Alice and Elbert Sullivan; her loving husband, Clyde; a baby daughter, Catheryn; a son, Marty; her sister, Elizabeth and a brother, J. L. Sullivan and two step-grandsons, Todd and Chipper. She is survived by son, Michael C. J. (Marcia); daughter, Sharon Ann; a sister, Jeanne (Jim); grandchildren, Kathleen and J.P.; three great-grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews and a dear friend, Jack Gogerty. Connie was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church; Tucson Retired Offices Spouse's Club, the local MOOA, and a life member of the national military Affairs Association and a former member of the Davis Monthan Wives Club. Private family Viewing will be at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, Mass will be celebrated at the Chapel at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Burial of cremains will be at the family plot at Holy Hope Cemetery. Reception to follow at Radisson, at 6555 E. Speedway Blvd.
