Billy J. Ford

a long time Tucsonan born February 8, 1930 in Amarillo, TX died May 26, 2013 in Florida after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years, Peggy. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; four children and their spouses, eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Carolien who was his joy and one more on the way. He was part of the top ranked 1st Division Marine Corp. He distinguished himself in the Chosin Reservoir conflict. He was decorated numerous times and excelled as a communications lineman. He also proved himself as a sharp shooter marksman as well as a leader of men. After the war he became a successful self-made business man who owned and operated the Double L Restaurant for over 50 years. He and his wife, Peggy were active in the Old Pueblo Square Dance Assn in the 60's and 70's. They had many great times and wonderful friends. He was an avid sportsman who loved hunting, golf and deep sea fishing. He is greatly missed and his family looks forward to joining him in Heaven someday. A private family memorial will happen at a later date.
