“VIKINGS” — Cable television gets on the Nordic track with this nine-part scripted series that chronicles the medieval adventures of legendary Viking warriors without all the tired raping-and-pillaging stereotypes. Travis Fimmel stars as Ragnar Lothbrok, a young farmer who yearns to explore the distant shores across the ocean. The cast also includes Gabriel Byrne, Jessalyn Gilsig and Katheryn Winnick. 11  tonight, History.

“The Bible” is the greatest story ever retold — a 10-hour, five-part miniseries that spans Genesis to Christ’s resurrection and beyond. The project is produced by the husband-wife team of Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. 9 p.m., History.

The Donald has rounded up 14 familiar faces with nothing better to do for “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice,” which pretty much appears to have “train wreck” written all over it. Among the returnees: Gary Busey, La Toya Jackson and Dennis Rodman. 8 p.m., NBC.

In the new drama, “Red Widow,” Radha Mitchell plays a Northern California soccer mom turned reluctant mobster after her husband is gunned down in their driveway. The series opens with a two-hour episode. 8 p.m., ABC.
