Day 4 update: Brooklyn and The Frog are in a no-holds barred battle for best pizza in a virtual tie. Magpies is catching up with Zona 78 which had a fast start. Check it out here.

We're down to the El-Eat Eight, and all are locally owned. (Take that, Domino's.) One business got a bump by sending free pizzas to a TV sports anchor.

The Pizza Madness field has been narrowed from 32 of the best pizza restaurants in Tucson to the best eight - and they're all locally owned.

Bazil's needed some help from a local sports anchor to throw down Grimaldi's on Sunday. After lagging behind the New-York-based chain all week, Bazil's pulled ahead on Sunday night after KOLD sports anchorman Dave Cooney endorsed the Catalina Foothills eatery.

He posted a video on his Facebook wall along with a link to Pizza Madness and wrote: "Our Friends at Bazil's were kind enough to stop by and drop off a couple of specialty pizzas. My vote is in. ... Here's where to vote."

Bazil's pulled out the win, 492-435, ensuring an all-local El-Eat Eight.

Rocco's Little Chicago will face Bazil's in the next round. In the battle of Broadway, Rocco's had a tough go against Arizona Pizza Co. but took the win 450-376.

Rina Brubaker Valdez posted: "Our family allots 20 percent of our total yearly income to eat at Rocco's as often as possbile."

Argenziano's, the pride of Corona de Tucson, has rolled through to the Round of Eight on the backs of a loyal, vocal fan base. They beat a tough NYPD 653-547.

Grandma Tony's, the pizza of Tucson's Gaslight Theater, took down Dry River Co. 379-236.
