Applications for the lottery drawing of participants are being accepted now through May 4 for Junior Ranger Camps, which will be held at Saguaro East this summer, throughout the month of June.

The camps are open to children ages 6 to 11 and offer a variety of opportunities to learn about the plants and animals of the Sonoran Desert. Campers will participate in activities such as hiking, games and crafts, presented by National Park Service rangers and volunteers.

Each camp will meet Monday through Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per child, per camp.

For more information, or to get an application, visit online at www.nps.gov/sagu, stop by Saguaro East visitor center, 3693 S. Old Spanish Trail, or call 433-5153.
