Over the last 13 years, "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" has made its way to the forefront of political parody.

Comedy Central's fake news program is silly with biting satire and, while left-leaning, sticks it to both sides of the aisle, especially when the presidential elections roll around.

"Daily Show" fans will get a unique look at the inner workings of the series when The Daily Show Live "Indecision Tour 2012" makes a stop at Centennial Hall on Friday.

Unfortunately, Jon Stewart, the host and Leonardo da Vinci of political ribbing, will not be present.

So it's up to several solid comedians, all correspondents and producers on the show, to fill the void.

The evening will include stand-up, as well as a question-and-answer segment all about the show.

the three who'll offer 'analysis'

Al Madrigal

If you aren't a regular "Daily Show" viewer, you might know Madrigal best for his role as one of the students - the skinny guy with the beard and glasses - in the recent string of Farmers' Insurance Group commercials.

This is Madrigal's second trip to Tucson on "Daily Show" business this year.

The comedian recently came to town to interview Michael Hicks, a member of the Tucson Unified School District's Governing Board, about the elimination of its Mexican American Studies program.

Kristen Schaal

"Flight of the Conchords" fanatics will recognize Schaal as Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement's creepy neighbor and full-time stalker.

"30 Rock" fans know Schaal as Hazel Whassername, the equally creepy page who replaced Kenneth after his brief promotion and who has an unhealthy obsession with Liz Lemon.

Adam Lowitt

As one of the executive producers on "The Daily Show," Lowitt plays a behind-the-scenes role on the program, a job that has earned him three Emmy awards.

He's been with the team since 2002. Before that, he dedicated himself to standup.

He still performs every now and then with "Daily Show" cast members, including Wyatt Cenac and John Oliver.
