First the good news: Bentley's House of Coffee & Tea celebrated its 28th birthday on Feb. 3.
Now the not-so-good news: The University of Arizona-area coffee shop is closing early.
The coffeehouse rolled back its hours in the fall, from closing at midnight to shutting down at 10 p.m. each night.
In December, it pulled back even more, closing nightly at 6.
Longtime manager Bill Baron blamed a drop in evening business.
But the shop still draws a strong following during the day, he added.
Bentley's new hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Bentley's, at 1730 E. Speedway, was one of Tucson's first coffeehouses.
