Ari Shapiro, who brought Tucson Xoom Juice smoothies and Blue Bottle Coffee artisan brews at his industrial chic downtown coffee shop Sparkroot, will open his newest venture on Sunday.

It's a pizza place that takes a lot of inspiration from his smoothies and coffee shops: fresh ingredients, healthful attitudes and cool surroundings.

Falora Pizza & Espresso is an 1,100-square-foot Neapolitan-style pizza restaurant in Broadway Village. The menu of wood-fired pizzas ($11 to $15) and salads ($8 to $10) builds on Shapiro’s healthful theme with a cast of strong vegetarian offerings alongside the classic pepperoni — made here with Italian soppressata.

Beginning Sunday, Falora, 3000 E. Broadway, is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays; and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
