Two Tucson restaurants are getting star turns on the Travel Channel.
Last week, the cable network aired a segment on El Charro Café as part of its Mexican food episode of “Food Paradise.” El Charro gets nods for its signature roof-dried carne seca.
The episode was filmed at the original downtown location, 311 N. Court Ave., last summer and premiered last week. The family-owned restaurant now has four locations in the Tucson area.
Omar’s Hi-Way Chef at the Tucson Truck Terminal will be on "Food Paradise" next Wednesday in an episode about truck stops. Triple T is located off Interstate 10 at the Craycroft Road exit.
Manager Omar Ramirez said the Travel Channel filmed in November on what he described as “probably the busiest day we had in a long time.”
“Food Paradise” airs at 10 p.m. Wednesdays.
