• Dancing with Glass and Beethoven with guest conductor Andrew Grams, Nov. 15 and 17. Program: Adams’ “The Chairman Dances”; Glass’ Double Concerto for Violin and Cello (TSO premiere); Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
• Bach, Bees & Beethoven with guest conductor Tania Miller, Dec. 6 and 8. Program: Pärt’s “If Bach Had Raised Bees...” (TSO premiere); Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, “Emperor”; Sibelius’ Symphony No. 1.
• Moeckel plays The Red Violin with guest violinist Steven Moeckel, Jan. 17 and 19. Program: Corigliano’s “The Red Violin” Concerto (TSO premiere); Mahler’s Symphony No. 5.
• The Damnation of Faust (part of the 2014 Tucson Desert Song Festival), with guest vocalists Jennifer Johnson Cano, William Burden and Jordan Bisch, Feb. 14 and 16. Program: Berlioz’s “The Damnation of Faust” (TSO premiere).
• Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto with guest conductor Edwin Outwater and cellist Amit Peled, March 14 and 16, 2014. Program: Bates’ “Alternative Energy” (TSO premiere); Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No. 1; Debussy’s La Mer.
• The Ring Without Words featuring pianist Jeremy Denk, April 4 and 6, 2014. Program: Wagner’s Prelude, Act III, from “Lohengrin”; Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 (TSO premiere); Wagner’s “The Ring without Words” (TSO premiere).
