The Lodge Sasquatch Kitchen, Phoenix chef Aaron May’s second Tucson restaurant, will open Jan. 1 at Foothills Mall in the former My Big Fat Greek Restaurant.

May began an extensive $500,000 renovation of the 6,500-square-foot building in early December, creating a log-cabin chic ambience. The Lodge Sasquatch takes its inspiration from May’s Scottsdale bar/restaurant The Lodge, including swiping its Sasquatch burger — a bacon cheeseburger stacked between two grilled cheese sandwiches. But Lodge Sasquatch is more family-friendly, with a menu that includes comfort foods like prime rib and beer-braised brats.

The Lodge Sasquatch will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

This is May’s second Tucson restaurant. He co-owns the 2-year-old May’s Counter Chicken & Waffles at 2945 E. Speedway near Country Club Road.
