A new restaurant serving everyone’s favorite comfort food is coming to the Main Gate Square.
Called The Fix, the eatery will be a casual, quick-serve restaurant specializing in macaroni and cheese — eight different versions at first, but that will balloon up to 20, said owner Amanda Rickel, who comes from a food service background. Her father used to own Baggin’s Gourmet Sandwiches, and now her grandmother does.
Customers can even come up with their own mac n’ cheese combos, Rickel said.
Renovations are already under way at the former Sultan Palace, 943 E. University Blvd.
The Fix, which will also serve wine and beer, will be open for breakfast, too, offering giant cinnamon rolls, granola and oatmeal along with coffee. Sandwiches and salads will also be on the menu, and cookies will come with every meal, Rickel said.
“Say three people want to go to lunch and everybody wants something different, they can all eat at The Fix,” she said.
The target date to open is Aug. 14.
