Set your watch: It's gonna snow. At 6 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Friday and again Saturday.

In fact, it'll snow every Friday and Saturday at those times through Dec. 22.

Yup, it's time for La Encantada's annual Enchanted Snowfall, when the fluffy white stuff drifts down in the courtyards of the Foothills shopping center.

Shows are free and open to the public.

During the break between the 15-minute faux snowfall, musical groups will serenade the crowd with holiday tunes.

If you go this weekend, make sure to also check out Paws for Holidays, a festive fundraiser for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.

The event, which includes hot chocolate, live music and free holiday kids' crafts, runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at La Encantada.

For just $10, your favorite four-legged friends (two-legged ones are also welcome) can have their pictures taken with Santa. The proceeds benefit the HSSA.

There will also be adoptable animals and gift items to buy at the PAWSH store on La Encantada's upper level.

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is offering a $25 adoption fee for all mixed-breed dogs and cats ages 1 to 5 years old until Sunday. The nonprofit is waiving the adoption fees for mixed-breed dogs and cats over over 5 years.

Black Friday adoption specials

The Pima Animal Care Center is running Black Friday adoption specials for homeless animals that will stretch through Sunday.

Adoption fees for all animals will be $10, which includes microchips, sterilization and vaccinations, Friday through Sunday. Licensing for dogs over the age of three months runs $15, so the most an animal will cost is $25, PACC announced in a press release Tuesday.

PACC's adoption center, at 4000 N. Silverbell Road, is open noon until 7 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekends.

Black-cat Adoptions set for THIS WEEKEND

SAFE (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) animal rescue is offering a number of "mini-panthers" for adoption this weekend.

While there will be a snow Bengal, the focus is on trying to get black cats adopted. All are spayed or neutered, have their shots and are microchipped. The adoption fee is $95.

They can be seen at PetSmart, 7727 E. Broadway at Pantano Road, and at PetSmart, 1175 W. Irvington Road at Interstate 19, during regular store hours.
